Bilkent University Department of Music in the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Voice, effective September 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to primarily teach applied voice lessons to majors and minors. A strong emphasis on voice pedagogy is desired. Additional teaching responsibilities may include coursework in the candidate’s areas of expertise, such as voice literature, musical theater, choir, and other related subjects.
Responsibilities include:
- Teach a studio of university-level voice students.
- Teach classroom courses related to voice, including voice pedagogy.
- Supervise student recitals
- Service on jury exams and committees as assigned.
- Recruit and retain talented voice students
- Other administrative duties as assigned
Education Requirement: Doctorate in music (ABD is acceptable).
Required Qualifications:
- Documented college-level experience in both studio voice and classroom instruction.
- Evidence of excellence in vocal performance artistry.
- Demonstrated expertise in voice pedagogy, with a strong foundation in healthy vocal technique across a range of styles.
